Founded in 1930, DUHS provides every level of health care from preventive care to multidisciplinary, diagnostic, and therapeutic care in every medical specialty. It maintains 1,124 acute-care beds, and in 2005 admitted 38,185 patients, and provided for 763,154 outpatient visits.
