WorldCare International, Inc. presents at the 4th Annual International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress
Last week, on Friday, September 7, Drs. Hassan Sharif, Chief Operating Officer, and Richard Heinzl, Global Medical Director, presented at the 4th Annual International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. WorldCare’s local representative Medical Motion Corporate (MMC) was one of the sponsors of the event as well.
In their presentation, both doctors highlighted the impact of medical second opinions on healthcare services in the 21st century, highlighting increased access to care, improved quality of care and reduction of costs as benefits of serious illness medical second opinions. They also spoke on the challenges of providing health services in a globalized and interconnected world, the collaboration and transfer of knowledge and technology as tools to improve health indicators, patient-centered care and freedom of choice noting that remote medical second opinions are a complement for the insurance and corporate sector to help reduce medical costs, differentiate their product offerings and provide access to the top hospitals and clinicians in the world.
In addition, the two discussed the new approach to designing 21st century healthcare facilities, with a focus on the shift from disease management to wellness and disease prevention. Healthcare connectivity, wellness centers and medical advocacy were also touched on during their session at the Congress, which was a meeting point for major national health centers, worldwide medical tourism authorities, the diplomatic community, large buyers of international health services and solutions and executives of U.S. and Canadian hospitals, along with high-level representatives of the financial, health, tourism, transportation, education and investment sectors.
For four years, the International Health Tourism and Wellness Congress has provided a platform for multi-sectoral integration, business development and great investment opportunity, and is organized by the Dominican Health Tourism Association and AF Comunicación Estratégica. Congress participants had the opportunity to meet national and international speakers of high profile, ministers and decision makers, as well as the opportunity to connect with top executives of the health, economy and tourism sectors.
