WorldCare Mental Health MSO

Worldwide, one in four people experiences a mental health problem at some point in their lives. A majority never seek help from professionals for a variety of reasons, including lengthy wait times to see specialists and the stigma attached to diagnosis.

With WorldCare’s Mental Health MSO, specialists and sub-specialists from The WorldCare Consortium evaluate the underlying medical condition of the member and a senior psychiatrist provides diagnostic clarification and guidance on medication options, counseling interventions and other locally available therapies. These recommendations are provided to the member and their designated local physician in the detailed WorldCare MSO Report.

Organizations may choose to cover all mental health disorders or make specific selections such as:

• Bipolar disorder
• Generalized anxiety disorder
• Major depression
• Post-traumatic stress disorder

WorldCare Disability MSO

Physical disability significantly reduces the quality of life of approximately one in six people in Western countries. Far too many with disabling conditions including low back pain, concussion, cancer, catastrophic injury or chronic heart or neurological conditions, do not benefit from timely advanced care.

With WorldCare’s Disability MSO, a specialist and disability specialist from The WorldCare Consortium evaluate the underlying medical condition of the member and provide a plan for rehabilitation that addresses physical as well as mental health issues. These recommendations are provided to the member and their designated local physician in the detailed WorldCare MSO Report.

A recent study at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital¹ found that nearly one third of patients with catastrophic injuries who accessed a Disability MSO service returned to work.

Eligible conditions are determined on a client-by-client basis. They typically include a documented history of loss of function lasting longer than three to six months and may also include conditions that are not responding to treatment and require diagnostic clarification.

¹Study involved 700 patients.

WorldCare Pain Management MSO

Chronic pain is prevalent worldwide and places a substantial physical and emotional burden on patients. Typically, primary care physicians are empathetic and concerned, yet unable to treat patients without qualified guidance. And, patients are typically unable to access reputable pain specialists for weeks or months leaving them to suffer.

With WorldCare’s Pain Management MSO, a relevant medical specialist and a pain sub-specialist from The WorldCare Consortium review the member’s underlying medical condition and provide treatment recommendations to the member and their designated physician in the detailed MSO Report.  WorldCare offers this as a unique hybrid service designed to treat the whole person, not just the pain.
