WorldCare and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society develop patient kits

WorldCare and LLS develop patient kits

BOSTON, Dec. 15, 2015

WorldCare International, Inc. (WorldCare) worked together with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of North Texas to develop and distribute Patient Kits to those newly diagnosed with blood cancer.

The Patient Kits are designed to empower blood cancer patients by providing them with personal care items, educational material and informational and financial resources. The Kits were shaped after ideas and input were received from multiple focus groups, surveys and discussions with blood cancer survivors. The Kits will be distributed through insurance carriers, patient navigators, nurses, physicians and LLS events.

“Both WorldCare and LLS share similar missions of empowering patients by providing access to the highest quality health care available and the Patient Kits will prove quite valuable for those recently diagnosed with blood cancer,” said Hassan S. Sharif, MD, President and Chief Operating Officer, WorldCare International, Inc.
“The NTX Chapter of LLS is very excited about their new Patient Kit initiative. The concept came about after listening to the needs of blood cancer patients when they were going through their treatments. The contents of the Patient Kits are designed to include products, personal care items and information and financial resources that can greatly support a patient in cancer treatment. We are happy to announce that WorldCare will partner with LLS in the distribution of these kits to blood cancer patients,” said Patricia R. Thomson, Ph.D., Executive Director of LLS North Texas.
